Special Education Services and Protection

You may have more options than you know in meeting your child's needs. I can help you understand your options. There are many educational programs and a Federal guarantee that children are to receive a free and appropriate education. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires public schools to take certain steps to meet the needs of children with different abilities. If your child meets the requirements for special education, the school is required to create an Individualized Education Program (IEP) designed to provide that free and appropriate education.

Full Service Representation

If your child is having trouble at school with detention, suspension, or even expulsion (termination), a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) should be used to create a plan of action. The school is required to follow through with that Behavior Intervention Plan. I can represent your child at hearings at the school level, in mediation, and at due process hearings in court, if necessary. My goal will be to see that your child's unique needs are met.
